Safrique is dedicated to sustainable utilization of the natural resources in Mozambique. To that end, conservation of the fauna and flora throughout all of our exclusive areas is of utmost importance.

Poaching, stemming from the “bush meat,” ivory and animal skins trade is a constant threat to the wildlife of Mozambique. Safrique combats this problem through a three tiered program.

1. Local Empowerment
2. Education
3. Anti-poaching

The root to the problem of poaching, especially that of “bush meat”, is poverty. Safrique provides a much needed economic boost by creating jobs in rural villages, purchasing local produce and products, and by paying licenses and fees. Additionally, the company empowers local communities by undertaking various projects in the fields of education, health and infrastructure.

Safrique is committed to the conservation of Mozambique’s wildlife. To combat the illegal skins and ivory trade, we deploy year-round game scouts that are fully trained and equipped to deal with armed and highly motivated poachers. At the same time, we work with local schools to educate and underscore the need to conserve the beauty and wealth of the country’s natural resources.

With perseverance, our conservation program will help increase and maintain the wildlife of Mozambique and provide abundance and benefits for future generations.
